Linde Arentze

Linde is a Researcher at the Intimacies of Remote Warfare. Her research focuses on the global development of advanced military technology and its effects on military-industrial relations, civil-military relations, and the character of warfare. Besides her work at IRW, Linde is part of the interdisciplinary core team at the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies tasked by the Dutch government with investigating twenty years of Western interventionism in Afghanistan. She combines her work at IRW and NIOD with a PhD trajectory at the Conflict Studies Group at Utrecht University. Previously, she was as a Strategic Analyst at the Dutch defence and security think tank The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS), where she conducted research on strategic security issues for the Dutch Ministry of Defence and the Dutch National Police. Linde holds a Master's degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights (cum laude, 2022) and a Bachelor's degree in History of International Relations from Utrecht University (2021). Throughout her studies, Linde conducted various internships at IRW (2022), the Dutch Ministry of Defence’s Directorate-General Policy (2022), and the Dutch Ministry of Defence’s Institute for Military History (2021).
