Event: Transparency and Accountability in Military Operations

The Public International Law and Human Rights Honours Programme Clinic is hosting the event “Transparency and Accountability in Military Operations” on May 30, 2023. The event is taking place in the Aula Zaal at the Academiegebouw in Utrecht from 10:00-17:00 CET, where experts share their insights into interdisciplinary considerations on these critical topics.

The event includes two discussion-driven panels, a keynote speech by Prof dr. Cedric Ryngaert, and a Q&A session. Panelists represent international relations and law scholars, military personnel, journalists, NGO representatives, and industry professionals.

Lauren Gould, the project leader of IRW and Assistant Professor of Conflict Studies, will chair the panel “Ensuring Civilian Protection Through Transparency and Accountability: Perspectives from the Netherlands.”
