This week, IRW’s Dr. Lauren Gould appeared on the Dutch NOS Podcast ‘Met het Oog op Morgen’ to speak about civilian harm caused by the Dutch airstrike on Hawija in 2015. Gould’s appearance followed the news that lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld is to support eleven Iraqi survivors suing the Dutch state.

In the interview, Gould reflected on the ongoing joint research by IRW, PAX, and Iraqi NGO Al-Ghad to uncover the facts surrounding the airstrike that killed an estimated 70 civilians and destroyed over 400 buildings. A report on this research, building on 119 interviews with civilians that were directly impacted by the airstrike, will be published on the 12th of April, 2022.
