Public Event: Who holds our military to account?

Are you interested in how we can maintain democratic control over the wars that are waged in our name? Then join IRW for the Tivoli event ‘Who holds our military to account?: A conversation about war, civilian harm and the bombardment on Hawija’ on the 12th of December from 20:00-21:30.

The IRW editors of the recently published book ‘Hawija: The Destructive Realities of our War against IS’ (Dort, J., Gould, L., & Woudwijk, M. 2022) will engage in a lively debate with key contributors to the book, including human rights lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld, ex-parliamentarian Sadet Karabulut and civilian harm expert Erin Bijl from PAX. They will reflect on what the Hawija incident teaches us about (the future of) remote warfare, civilian harm and accountability.

The evening will be in Dutch. Find out more information and get your tickets here: https://www.tivolivredenburg.nl/agenda/wie-controleert-ons-leger-12-12-2022/
