Algorithmic Warfare

The Realities of Algorithmic Warfare

As machine learning is increasingly integrated into all aspects of human life, advanced militaries worldwide find themselves in what some call an artificial intelligence arms race. Through active involvement in the Realities of Algorithmic Warfare project, IRW delves into how the integration of algorithms into existing military technology paves the way for increased ludification, remoteness, and autonomy in warfare. These developments are changing battlefield dynamics and pose serious risk to civilians as well as democratic principles such as transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
