In his latest op-ed for Het Parool, IRW researcher Jip van Dort reflects on the recently released independent research report that condemns the Dutch Non-Lethal Assistance for Syrian militias. The report concludes that the support was not in line with international law. Jip concludes that if the Dutch parliament was informed about the true risks of the programme they would not have supported it. This is in line with a number of op-eds Jip has written on Dutch (remote) warfare, transparency and democratic control.
